Description

Maria graduated from a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from the University of Aberdeen in 2018. She also holds a Master’s of Research degree from the University of Aberdeen with a Distinction (2019). Maria is currently enrolled in a Clinical and Health Psychology PhD with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2023-2026), her thesis involves an investigation of personalized medicine at reducing self-stigma in psychosis.

Maria joined the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (PSSJD) team in 2022 as part of Dr. Susana Ochoa’s team in the Research Unit of the PSSJD and as predoctoral researcher within the consolidated research group “Etiopathogenesis and treatment of severe mental disorders (MERITT)” . She is the Project Manager of the PERMEPSY project and works as a predoctoral researcher in CIBERSAM’s G11 (Schizophrenia) group. Maria’s academic background involves extensive experience teaching statistics and psychology to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Dundee’s International College and research in the field of social stigma in the general population.
