Vanessa obtained her medical degree from Universidad Austral de Chile in 2009 and subsequently worked as a general practitioner in the south of Chile.
She specialized in Psychiatry at Universidad de Valparaíso, Chile, graduating in 2018.
She is the Head of the Psychotic Disorders Unit at Hospital Del Salvador de Valparaíso from 2019 to date. She is also an assistant professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Universidad de Valparaíso.
She obtained a Master’s degree in Mental Health Research at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2023.
She has participated in several research projects on schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders; her main lines of research are related to the study of the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions for people with schizophrenia and gender approach in schizophrenia.
